DHP VORTAC |

Picture taken July 11, 2015 The Dolphin VORTAC is one of the tallest beacons I've ever seen. It is located in a built-up area West of Miami International Airport and plays an important role in nearly all airport operations; that is probably why they had to elevate it above the buildings. The beacon is named after the general area, which includes the Dolphin Mall and the Dolphin Expressway, and of course that all goes after the Miami Dolphins.
