EHAM-OM18C ILS Outer Marker |
|
Picture taken July 10, 2001 The outer marker is of a simple construction. The whole installation fits on a small lot and consists mainly of an equipment shed, some scaffolding pipes, concrete reinforcement maze, and two dipoles. However there is no rust anywhere; this thing is well-maintained!
Picture taken July 10, 2001 As with all beacons in the Netherlands, there is an emergency telephone number attached to it.
Picture taken July 10, 2001 Two dipoles on a ground grid form a fan-like beam. This is why this type of beacon is also called a `fan marker.'
Picture taken July 10, 2001 The installation is directly next to the Bauduinlaan.
Picture taken July 10, 2001 Both dipoles create a beam directly through the photographer. The approach path is from the right to the left.
