This is the Sea Isle VORTAC located off Crest Haven Road in Cape
May Court House, New Jersey, USA. The access road is paved and announced by
the pictured sign: F.A.A. Vortex 3. Of course you will find the obligatory
No Trespassing sign, however, it is just as easy to park in the
adjacent Cape May County Veteran's Memorial Park and Cemetary and walk to
the back to access close proximity to the facility. |
| Remarks |
On this particular spring day (April 3, 2006) not only did I
(Warren) have a close encounter with the navaid, I also had the privilege of
fortuitously meeting the navaid technician inside the building. Ed was
extremely accommodating and was surely eager to describe the equipment.
In addition to the VOR and TACAN, the facility is host to a Washington
Center frequency and serves as the remote control outlet (RCO) for the
Millville FSS. |
